Default Does it suck!?

Hi all I purchased a 2009 ford f150 xlt 5.4 screw with 66k miles
bought it wrecked had to fix the front end a bit.

my main gripe is its only 66 miles and already the under body
is rusted bad! the rockers have holes on each side from rust!

also my gas gauge don't work I ran out of gas not knowing!

my power seat has issues seams like it don't want to move sometimes!

the fan blower inside only works on 3 and 4.

Ford Built tough?? so they say.

also when I go to move slowly up hill it feels like the rear end is dragging.

any help will be appreciated.

I know this is your first post here but you're making me laugh. You bought a truck with a ton of issues and now you want to blame ford. Sounds like the previous owner dumped a turd of a truck on you.

Rust is most likely caused by the salt they use on your roads.
Gas gauge sounds like a faulty sensor.
Seat sounds like a loose connection or bad switch.
Fan could also be the same.
Not sure if I fully understand the rear end issue.

It sounds like you didn't give it a good look over when you bought it. No way I would buy a truck that was wrecked but that's just me.

It was purchased from a dealers auction, its the only way I could afford this truck.
so really I didn't see the beast until it was brought home.

I came from a 2004 nissan titan good truck but it got old so I wanted to switch it up
and buy a real american truck.

is the 5.4 triton good motor? I heard good and bad

5.4 is a decent motor. It does have issues with the spark plugs breaking off in the head. If they have never been done, which is very well possible, you may want to have a mechanic do them just incase they do break.

I bought my '12 at auction, sight unseen as a wreck which I'm in the middle of rebuilding. I was expecting surprises, which I got. However I made sure I had enough budget to deal with all the surprises.

With that said, my '08 has a 5.4 with over 210k miles on it and it's still running. It's never been opened up apart from plugs and coils. It's a true highway truck that had regular oil changes all its life.

It shouldn't have any issues with spark plugs, in 2008 they fixed the plug design to eliminate that. They're good engines when they're taken care of which might be an issue for you considering how the previous owner left it.

you know you mite be right, the truck does have some light rust
even on the speaker covers that are metal,

I tried to deny the fact that it is a possibility now I'm getting
to be really unhappy

I haven't car faxed it yet and I'm not sure if I want to.

I did almost the same thing as the OP. I bought My 10 XLT with a salvage title, fixed it and got a rebuilt title. It's the only way I could afford a truck like this. It takes work, but beats a truck payment.
