Agree, I was giving an example. I don't jump my Raptor nor will I take it rock crawling.

I forgot towing, the power wagon has the towing advantage.

You've never wheeled anything with IFS have you? Solid axle is many times better than IFS when it comes to articulation when you're talking about stock IFS vs stock solid axle.

Actually. Solid axles have all advantages besides on road ride comfort. And newer solid axles are pretty nice riding. I'd take a solid axle any day.

Um wrong. Solid is better for articulation.

And you don't understand geometry.

I responded to a post that stated solid axles have more articulation than IFS, that isn't true. Additionally, if an IFS setup is built right, they are far superior to solid axles.

I am not saying the Raptor IFS is stronger/better than the power wagon. I am saying the blanket statement that solid axles provide more articulation is wrong.

But they do. Any basic straight axle is better than a well built ifs setup. The only superior ifs would be extreme long travel, but it only beats the straight axle in articulation. Nothing else

The advantage of IFS over solid

With a solid axle the lifting of one side causes the other side to either raise or lower depending on the setup. With IFS one side has no impact on the other which provides sure footing on uneven terrain.

You guys can argue all you want, that doesn't negate the IFS advantage.

HMMWV anyone? A tad more off road capability than the power wagon...

Which was the statement I was countering. Solid axles do NOT have an articulation advantage over IFS.
