Default Disconnecting from Sync during call

Sometime my wife wants to use my phone while I'm driving. How do I either disconnect the phone from SYNC before she places a call or during a call?

Hi, Minotbob -

If your wife prefers the call not to come through the SYNC system, you'll need to turn Bluetooth off on your phone prior to dialing out.

Android users can quickly access this feature by using the drop-down menu from the top of the screen.

If you're using an iPhone, you'll need to go through your settings.

Let me know if you have any additional questions.

So, if your wife rarely drives the truck, why is her phone Synched at all?

Depending on what kind of phone, you should have a screen pop up on the call screen that will give you options to go through sync or phone.

My iPhone gives me this screen but I'm now using a Kenwood HU. A call comes in or I dial out it give me the option to choose where to take the call. Don't have to go into settings.

On my 2013 there is an option on the NAV screen to make the call private, so it does not go through the speakers. I have an Android phone, so it might not be an option if you have an iPhone, Blackberry, etc.

Sorry I wasn't clear. The phone is mine and is sync'd. She usually wants to use my phone when I have a number memorized and she doesn't.

I have an iPhone 5 so it looks like I have to disconnect Bluetooth before I make the call.

Perhaps this is something that your team could work on for a future SW update. Thanks for the response.

The in-call screen on your phone should have a portion that says 'headset' (or the Apple equivalent) during a call. Just tap that and the audio will only go through the ear piece of the phone. Not sure if it works that way on IPhone, but I would imagine so.
