Default Disable Bluetooth?

My employer does not allow the use of cell phones while driving and will not tolerate hands-free capability. Do you know of a way to disable at least that portion of Sync?

Depends on what year and model of Sync you have. I don't think current trucks can, but I think the older Sync versions could.

You can also just turn off bluetooth on your phone. Accomplishes the same thing.

Your employer sounds like a goof.

You can turn off the bluetooth on your cell phone.

Don't pair the phone. It won't do it by itself. You have to put in the code.

Just don't pair your phone.... or just don't make calls. How exactly does "your employer monitor this anyway lol. Some people.

Somewhere on the sync settings you have the option of disabling Bluetooth.
I don't remember exactly where, but I came across it many times. It should be under sync/media settings or phone advanced settings. Just check around and you'll find it.
But if you follow the others recommendations just do it on your phone and leave the car's Bluetooth open for someone who wants to give your boss 1 good reason to get smart

Thanks for the ideas. I will look for a Bluetooth disable. Failing that, I will simply not pair my phone which may be an acceptable solution to my policy enforcer.

Many posters on this forum won't have to deal with an issue like this. It is difficult to order this XL with even a moderate amount of features and avoid the Sync system. Don't get me wrong, I love Sync in my '13 FX4 SC.

This truck exists only on paper at this point and will soon be ordered. As a matter of fact, we may delay the order until the 2015s come on line. My greenhouse gas-conscious employer is intrigued by the weight reduction of the aluminum body componentry.
