Yeah...not to hijack the thread or whatever, but I once tried to tow my boat with a 4.6 equipped standard cab F-150 and it about KILLED the truck. Even moderate hills slowed the thing down to 25-30 mph, and the transmission fluid was damned near boiling. Overpowered, it was not...lol!

i wonder if it would bolt up to my tranny and fit under my hood etc and if crate engines come with computer and wiring harness? will my alternator, ac and power steering bolt on
Typically, 'crate' motors are just the engine only, minus all wiring, etc.
You'd need all the brackets and electronics and wiring harnesses from a 5.0 along with everything ELSE that is on the 5.0 equipped engine to do the swap. I am sure while it COULD be done, the cost and hassle would be...crazy to say the least.

Ford racing has there control pack for their coyote crate motors. I beleive it is $1500, really simplfies crate engine swap

Oh, it's a solid motor. But pulling a trailer up hill AND throwing people back in their seats and stuff off the dash? Had to be a speed bump there somewhere.
