Default Which Color

New to the forums but here's the deal im 17 and will be buying a new truck under my dads name in July roughly ( Splitting cost half n half with each other ) I figured my budget is about 28k sticker price so i'm going with the F-150 STX 2012 preferably. Used to be a chevy guy had a s-10 that spun a main bearing and a impala right now that likes to eat intake gaskets then used to own a 92 mustang gt that ran like a charm no leaks so im slowly turning ford.

But to the point I decided after years of research literally I want a f-150 stx with the 5.0 in it extended cab ( forgot ford's wording for extended cab ) I have a few questions though

1- The dark grey color or Race red .. I want to get black brush gaurds/ nerf bars etc so I wont be adding chrome. So which color do you think I should go with

2- Would asking the dealer to exchange tires be a practical idea if I pay the difference

3- I live in MN so 4x4 for sure but with rear end I prefer the 3.55 Electronic locking diffrental vs the open but do you think it really matters alot

* Will be daily driver and will be babied my family is extremely **** about keeping cars nice motor and body wise .. Probably cement queen for at least 5 years

1) The Ford term is supercab. I may be biased, but i'd go with the gray. I actually almost got a race red, but at the last minute, i saw the gray.

2) What do u mean by exchanging tires?

3)u really won't need the electronic locking differential if u plan to primarily use it on pavement. Normal 4x4 is more than enough, even in snow and ice.

I love my gray, and find it is a great color with a real pop, although I too might be biased.

and i second Blyons808, I only use my locker when off road as a last resort.

Sterling gray is my favourite colour. After a wash the metallic really shows and it looks amazing in sun light. It also hides dirt. My truck always appears to be clean even covered in dust. See them both in person and decide which one you like better.

if you're going to do black accents, the darker color is the way to go. a salesman at my work has a 2012 FX4 with the FX appearance package. it's sterling grey with the factory black wheels, black head and tail lights and black side stripe. it looks sick. if I had the extra money I would have ordered a new truck exactly like his.

Like before the truck gets any miles on it take the stock tires off trade them to the dealer for better/bigger tires and I pay the difference

Example: Nitto's come stock those cost 50$ But I want the Swampers that cost 60$ I give the Nitto's to the dealer and 10 dollars and they give me some swampers.
( Prices are far from real sad to say )

You would probably get a better price on tires and trade in from somewhere else like discount tire. Dealer may be expensive.
