Dealer replaced several parts. One of the engine guys showed me (if I remember correct) was the inside of a cam phaser. It had what looked like a bunch of scratches inside and its apparently suppose to be perfectly smooth. But I got the CEL again lastnight. Was slowing down as a car in front of me was turning, after I went back to the gas pedal, it felt like a problem with the shifting and then it lit up.

Now I feel like this is happening more again today. Code P0014 has come up again too.

Really tired of this by now. Sure my dealer is also.

Back again with same codes!

Seriously looking at trading it for another 2013, Ecoboost Lariat with the rare 6 seated leather. Ugh.

Default Code P0012

I know it sounds dumb but have your alternator checked. Diodes might be shot and causing electrical "noise" and for some reason it always manifests in cam circuit. This is exactly what happened with my 01 mustang. (I know different system different engine but just humor me its a free test at auto parts store. The one thing they dont mess up 100% of the time)

Codes went away when I returned it to stock tune of course. I may just ride out stock tune for a few thousand to see if it comes back.

Yes! See my responses in this other thread another member posted. Sorry I never updated mine! And I have not had another CEL code come up since.

2016 F-150 5.0 106k now have this P0012 code. Dealer cleaned the VCT solenoid. Light came back on in 1 hour after picking it up. They only had it for a whole week. This is a work truck stock no tune. Now after reading this I am concerned they will not be able to fix it. Fun times.
