Default "Check Fuel Fill Inlet" with Check engine light

I have a 2010 f-150 supercrew with about 206k miles. A couple months ago I got the notification "check fuel fill inlet" every time I turned on the truck. I looked it up on here and it seemed like it wasn't a big problem so I didn't worry about it. A couple weeks later it went away, but then around three weeks ago it came back on. I didn't worry about it until yesterday when I was going about 70 on the highway and the check engine light came on. Anyone had this same issue? Should I wait and see if it goes away or take it in to get it looked at? I'm pretty sure it doesn't affect performance at all so I'm not super worried but just wondering if there is anything else with this issue I should look at and what I should do about it. Thanks!

go to you local auto part chain store and have them read the codes then decide what to do. Is the check engine light on steady or flashing

How much will they charge for that? It's just on steady.

Hey bud... take some wd40 and spray it all over the fuel neck. Then take the plastic fuel nozzle that comes with the truck and work it in and out about 50 times. You’ll fix the prob.

Each time I wash my truck, I flush the fuel inlet with water. Then after it all dries, like mentioned above, spray a good coating of wd40.

you can get a basic code reader from harbor freight $30-40. I can't tell you how many times I've used it on our family vehicles and neighbors as well.

Most auto parts stores don't charge anything for reading codes. It's just a free service, like their free tool rentals. Advanced auto parts, autozone, partsource, autovalue, all of those can read your codes for free

You're a lot braver than I am. I would not trust that thing to be water tight.

If it's not water/air tight, you get engine codes.
