"Check Fuel Fill Inlet" with Check engine light
From owner's manual:
If the check fuel fill inlet lamp or CHECK FUEL FILL INLET message comes on, the fuel fill inlet may not have properly closed. The inlet may have stuck open or debris may be preventing the inlet from fully closing. At the next opportunity, safely pull off the road, turn off the engine, open the fuel filler door and remove any visible debris from the fuel fill opening. Insert either the fuel fill nozzle or the fuel fill funnel (see Refilling with a portable fuel container for funnel location) provided with the vehicle several times to dislodge any debris and/or allow the inlet to close properly. If this action corrects the problem, the check fuel fill inlet lamp or CHECK FUEL FILL INLET message may not reset immediately. It may take several driving cycles for the check fuel fill inlet lamp or CHECK FUEL FILL INLET message to turn off. A driving cycle consists of an engine start-up (after four or more hours with the engine off) followed by city/highway driving. Continuing to drive with the check fuel fill inlet lamp or CHECK FUEL FILL INLET message on may cause the service engine soon lamp to turn on as well.

I've gone through this several times with mine, I drive a lot of dirt roads. The method/video posted by FLXLT does work. Only catches are, sometimes I've had to do it several times to get it to work, or you can clean it, and it will take several days for the CEL to go away. In either case, that method does work. Plus, it ultimately doesn't do anything, doesn't affect the operation of the truck in any way...except for that annoying light.
Well, 2015 XLT 2.7L V6 Ecoboost. Bought this 3 months ago and check engine light has came on 4 times.
1. March 14...Dealer performed TSB# 15-0171
2. May 7..Dealer replaced and programmed Gateway Module
3. May 17...Dealer replaced purge valve
4. June 2...P0442 Evaporative system leak detected. Autozone cleared code after I performed troubleshooting with WD40 and filler spout.
5. Present...CEL is back on. ARGHHHH
I love this truck more than I love my 93 F150 XLT. Can anyone help? Warranty is running out soon!

I won't go to AutoZone anymore for them to read codes. They don't get all the codes with their scanners. I took mine to an auto repair shop and more codes came up with their scanners
I have a 2010 f-150 supercrew with about 206k miles. A couple months ago I got the notification "check fuel fill inlet" every time I turned on the truck. I looked it up on here and it seemed like it wasn't a big problem so I didn't worry about it. A couple weeks later it went away, but then around three weeks ago it came back on. I didn't worry about it until yesterday when I was going about 70 on the highway and the check engine light came on. Anyone had this same issue? Should I wait and see if it goes away or take it in to get it looked at? I'm pretty sure it doesn't affect performance at all so I'm not super worried but just wondering if there is anything else with this issue I should look at and what I should do about it. Thanks!
