Default Check Engine Light

2011 Scab less than 4k on the OD.

Filled up yesterday with E85 for the first time since buying the truck. The next day it throws a CEL.

- My guess is that it has something to do with the E85. Nothing seems to be off with the truck.

- Any suggestions on why the E85 may throw the light?

- Also is there a way to reset the light?

Thanks in advance

Dont put that garbage fuel in your Ford again. I wonder if you disconnect the battery for 15 to 20 minutes if it will go off. I know it works in my other vehicles but I am not positive on the new Ford if the CEL wil go away. Try that first.

maybe you have a bad catalytic converter. get it scanned at auto part store or take to dealer.

Sorry I wasn't more specific I have a 5.0.

I was hoping to not have to disconnect the battery so I didn't have to reset all radio settings and sync.

Finally got all the way through the tank of E85 and filled up with 87 again. Well about 20 miles after C/E light gone. I guess it was the E85, but what's the point of a flex fuel vehicle that apparently doesn't like using anything besides 87?

Read in the owners manual. There is a special procedure I believe to get it to switch over to the E85. I seem to remember something like that but I could be wrong.

Yeah you fill it up with e85, avoid mixing, that's all. Fill up with a different fuel only when near empty.
