This cant be normal ?!!
Yup. I consider it normal wear and tear. Maybe I'll pick up a bottle of touch-up paint and fix them but the only spots that could potentially rust is on the parts of the bumper that the 3M doesn't cover, about 3/4" around the fog light opening, and right around the black bread loaves. Not really concerned about it. I didn't 3M my 2011 and it looked awful after 2 years. Little white spots everywhere.
My 13 has like 4000 miles and it's windshield is junk as well as lots of chips up front. I am going to fix the chips, do 3m and I guess get a new window. Caught a rock right at the top of the glass in the black and it cracked straight down. Thank you Alberta and your terrible broken, falling apart, gravel covered Saskatchewan quality roads lol.

I'm wondering that too. It had 2 chips in the middle I repaired with the good old Canadian tire Bullseye kits but this one wasn't visible. I would be curious if the standard window stands up better. I mean this truck is only 3 months old lol.
I was still on my original windshield on my '11 w/59,000km and it didn't look nearly as bad as the '13 windshield. I believe my windshield guy said the SoundScreen is less durable.
WANI - Working As Nature Intended ...
You're experiencing the chemical reaction between bare metal and moisture. And happens when nicks, chips, etc. aren't touched-up in a timely manner to restore (somewhat of) a paint barrier between the bare metal and the environment.
If you want to see rust/corrosion ... strip all the paint from the metal parts.

That sounds more normal. I am pretty cheap with windows and run them until it's so sand blasted I can't see out them but this one won't make it that long. My 04 gmc has 135000 kms and still has its original windshield in it lol.
