Issue: Cannot default the My Ford Sync system (without Navigation) to Bluetooth audio
Some users are having an issue with when they turn the ignition on their My Ford Sync system reverts to Line-In even though they were using Bluetooth audio when they turn their vehicle off. They would like to have the system revert back to Bluetooth audio instead of having to go through the menus to be able to get to Bluetooth audio or use the voice commands. A Ford customer service representative FordIVTteam actually joined in the conversation and gave the reason why Ford made this change (as it would previously revert to Bluetooth) and the best method to get back to the source they wanted.

Can Sync default to Bluetooth Audio?
It seems that Ford's ability (or willingness) to support tech features after the sale is almost nil. Not all of us want to trade in for the new model truck to get a Sync update.
We know the embedded Windows O/S isn't the greatest. We also know the that non-MFT sync modules over the years, ARM based single board computers, are in some cases identical yet different sync versions available for them.
For these reasons I avoid any extra cost built-in tech features. I also tell everyone I know to do the same. I like my tech toys but Ford has demonstrated it can't execute like the major tech companies can with SW.

Sometimes if I don't have network connection I have issues with podcasts starting automatically.
I do on my work truck that DOESNT have BT.
But I never do/have in my personal truck.
Its stupid that it goes to line in but not BT audio when there is already a phone connected VIA BT, but nothing in the line in...
Default to an input that isn't connected... But not to one that is...

I think you hit the nail on the head. Sync can't connect to what's not there, and it takes time to establish the BT connection between phone and Sync.
If I leave the truck on BT audio, when I get back in and start the truck, the radio is on and trying to connect to BT audio before the BT connection between Sync and the phone is established. It doesn't see a BT connected device and immediately switches to something else that doesn't require a connected device.
I have learned to switch to the radio before I shut off the truck. When I get in and start the truck, I hit the "Aux" button and the time it takes to switch from the radio to "Aux" is enough for Sync to establish the BT connection with the phone. BT audio is there with the press of one button.
It's a workaround, but it works for me.
