Issue: Cannot default the My Ford Sync system (without Navigation) to Bluetooth audio

Some users are having an issue with when they turn the ignition on their My Ford Sync system reverts to Line-In even though they were using Bluetooth audio when they turn their vehicle off. They would like to have the system revert back to Bluetooth audio instead of having to go through the menus to be able to get to Bluetooth audio or use the voice commands. A Ford customer service representative FordIVTteam actually joined in the conversation and gave the reason why Ford made this change (as it would previously revert to Bluetooth) and the best method to get back to the source they wanted.

It is a new 2014 XLT manufactured in December.
I'm wondering if there's a software update that was applied. I wonder if there's a way to see which patch you have on your truck

The problem is it's not consistent, at least for mine. At this point the majority of the time (a slim majority I think) it works. But not all the time, and often enough that it's really annoying. My three year old has taken to mocking me when I say "bluetooth audio."

I've now changed to a new phone (Galaxy S5 running lollipop) and it is the same. Side note: adding this phone caused lots of bluetooth wierdness, and the solution was to delete all the remembered devices on the truck's system. I initially thought this might be a solution as the bluetooth started working like it should, and then it started disconnecting again the other day. The two main apps I'm using are google play and doggcatcher.

Mine works for periods of time too, then stops. I'd like to hear how it's working for you in a couple weeks.

Congrats on the new truck though.

You can. You login on support.ford.com and as long as your truck is registered there, it will have your update information. It says my version is the latest when I go there.

I have only been using the default music app and default podcast app on my iPhone 5s and so far flawless.

My Ford F150 XLT 2013 has this exact problem! I have contacted Ford but they say the feature was removed by customer request! I call bull****!

Yes it's bull****. Yes FoMoCo knows. Does FoMoCo care? No. Could they just upload the version prior to their ****up? Yes.

I hate to hijack this thread, but does anyone's sync let them know verbally that their phone is disconnected? My 09 Platinum's Sync use to call out "phone disconnected", when I forgot to grab it. Now in my 2014 FX4 it doesn't say anything. My 09 had the first generation SYNC but you would think that feature would have carried over to the new? Any thoughts or solutions?

Mine has never ever done that in my 14 XLT. I would assume you have MyFordTouch though and it could be different.
