From the reports we get back its now a two step process. Return our tuner to "stock" and then do the same with the original tuner as well.

I'm definitely buying lockout kit this week for my 2007 with 5.4 engine. Currently have Volant cai and true dual exhaust with x-pipe. I have the power hungry performance Gryphon (glorified edge evolution) with two custom tunes installed, 87 performance and 87 tow tunes. My simple question is, will my tuner still work in this application?? I'm afraid that truck will run lean with current mods without custom tunes installed.

I had the cam phasers, solenoids, timing chains, and all guides and tensioners replaced on my 05.

When I got her back she still ticked noticeably, and I was livid. I finally got a mechanic I know to come look at it with me, and using a mechanics stethoscope we narrowed it down to the fuel injectors opening and closing.

Recently another mechanic who has been working on Ford trucks since the late 80s verified this. He told me that these 5.4s have always had a slight tick to them, and they sounded that way off the show room floor, it was just quiet enough that no one noticed or cared.

My 2010 I just bought makes the same tick my old truck did. Took a scope to it and sure enough, it's coming from the fuel injectors.

So keep in mind that the ticking you are hearing could be completely unrelated to your other problems.

Our tuner is designed to be stack-able with other tune companies devices, or for an extra fee we can send you a custom performance / lockout tuning device. To use the standard lockout tuner with your existing device, you can set your tuner to the file of choice, disconnect the tuner , and load our tune to the vehicle. If you have a tuner that stays connected to the vehicle while driving , you can reconnect the device afterwards. Just be sure if you need to switch tunes that you back our tune out first.

Otherwise we do offer remote custom dyno tunes with the lockout modification incorporated which is the best way to go IMO. We can create custom tunes for 87,89,91, or 93 octane in either performance or tow versions. Our tuner can hold 2 custom lockout performance tunes plus a 3rd stock tune as well. This way you would only need 1 tuner and have the power of a true Livernois Motorsports custom dyno tune at your disposal. We offer lifetime tune support for mods existing or future, custom tune revisions / changes, wheel and tire size adjustments, etc.
