Default DVD Headrests ?

Has anyone replaced their headrests with the built-in DVD headrests? If so, what was your experience/recommendations?

I've thought about it hard and narrowed it to the oem Ford Invision ones (too expensive at $1900ish) and Vizualogic ones ($1200ish).

Leaning toward the Vizualogic ones but still on the fence because I'd really like to see them in person before dropping that kind of cash. I really want an assurance that they'll be the exact same shape and leather as my stock headrests.

I just hang a couple of iPads ($1000) and head rest mounts ($100) for trips. Much more flexible for us.

Edit..since the ipad3 came out you can get a couple of ipad2's for $600. Not pimping just iPads....you can buy other tablets and mount them also...

I have the DVD headrests. Bought the truck in October.
Yes they were expensive but it was a part of the deal with my wife in order to switch from a Yukon XL with 3 rows to having 3 boys (9yr, 7yr, 2.5yr olds) on one bench to my first truck.
I preferred the tablet route but my wife reminded me a 2yr old would not be able to hang onto it and I find the tablets are difficult to view with bright sunlight.
Per a recommendation on this site I use a 6ft long headphone line from the main dvd headrest to the input on the dash so the sound is thru the stereo. Saves me from sad looks when there are dead batteries in the wireless headsets and again the two yr old fights the in-ear head phones and wireless vesions.
My goal is to use the new headphones which will be pure bliss.....

Those look really nice. If you don't mind - where'd you get them, how much, did you install them, happy with the finish/match? Feel free to post more pics of them.

I went with the el-cheapo onfair ones and have been pleasantly surprised. Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of a DVD player in the OEM headrests, but I wasn't willing to pay a $1000 - $1500 premium for it. My concerns when I went with the aftermarket ones were color match and rattles. If you follow the install instructions on their site, you can eliminate rattles pretty well , in fact mine do not rattle. The kids car seats rattle, the headrests do not. The color match worked out very well, if it did not I would have gotten them reupholstered to match:

Another benefit of these generic ones is that they are straight up, not the utterly stupid low rider, leaned back and of the OEM ones. I like to sit up when I am driving and the angle of the OEM headrests was very uncomfortable. When I bought these I was prepared to put the DVD player guts in the OEM headrest after I had bent the pins on the OEM ones to a comfortable level. That was not necessary however .

The ones I got came with the flap, and I would not do that again. My kids (3 and 5) seem to think it is fun to kick the flaps when they are down. For the cost of these headrests (~$300), you can also get two Kindle Fires ($400) and still make out cheaper.
