Default Cab Corner Rust

I’m a new member. I have a 2010 Ford 4dr Crew Cab. I have rust in the cab corners and starting in the rocker panel areas. Does anyone know where I can have this evaluated and fixed in the Indianapolis area?

How much is your truck worth? Is it really cost effective spending thousands on something worth $10,000?

Default Cab Corner Rust

Exactly. The truck is a 140K mileage vehicle. But, they’re almost all highway miles, so it’s mechanically extremely sound. I’m just thinking about keeping it as an extra vehicle, but I hate driving a rust bucket around, even if it’s for weekend hardware store runs. It’s certainly not worth putting 2 or $3k into. Any idea what a 2010 F150 XLT crew cab with 140k will bring?

I was quoted $5000 to repair both sides (cut and weld new in) on my 2012 in NW Minnesota.

Ouch. One shop told me $3500. Maybe that wasn’t a bad deal? Sounds like this is about a $10K truck without rust and a $5K truck with it.

Watch some ChrisFix videos on rust repair if you want to sacrifice a weekend fixing it yourself. (Depending how bad it is.)

Or do some cheaper "cover it up" stuff.

I second that, Chris Fix is great. Also look at the you tube using "great stuff" spray foam. Squirt it in as a filler. Cut the extra off, put some body filler on top. Sand and paint. The you tube video caught my interest in it. I might try it on a beater to test it out.

Spray foaming your rockers is a horrible idea... That is going to trap moisture and make it rot 10x faster.
