A/C Issues
Having issues with my air conditioning speed control. I have a 2012 F150 Lariat. for quite a while the fan blew at whatever speed it wanted and the dropped to low only. I have since changed the Blower Motor and the speed control unit. Now it blows on high only. How do I get it back to blow on whatever setting I have the controls set?
Blower Motor bought through Rock Auto

Is the control module a genuine motor craft?
The electronics in our trucks are finicky about knockoff brand replacement parts.
The blower control module failed on my 2013 XLT, and I tried 3 different duralast modules, from 3 different autozone stores, and none worked.
Purchased genuine Motorcraft replacement and problem solved.
Be aware, the parts references on multiple web sites show the module with the fins for dual controls only, but I have an XLT with single manual control and it has the finned module.
If you have a 7 speed control switch, you have the electronic module, even if it's manual control.
If it's a 4 speed blower, is a conventional resistor module.
Bottom line, electronic or electric parts, stick with motorcraft only.

You can repair (mosfet replacement) the part madmax posted the picture of on this above (#6).
When mine had stop working after 6yrs in 2015, I found a replacement at my local auto salvage, I then repaired my original part & kept it in the glovebox. I found & used mosfet part# STP141NF55
A couple years later the auto salvage part stopped working so I swapped my repaired original part back in & its been fine.

Actually it is testable. I had the same problem on my '10 Nav. I removed the module and tested the MOSFET under the black cover. The cover pops off quite easily and there's a MOSFET screwed to the large heatsink. Just check continuity across all three legs. Mine was a dead short across all of them. Very typical failure for a transistor. I ordered a new one from Mouser for $2 and soldered it in place. It's not the easiest soldering but take your time and it's very doable. The original part number is ST141NF55. That item is very hard to find because it comes with a certain automotive testing standard. I got the ST140NF55 which is the exact same ratings and has been working fine. Good luck to all.

Yes, OEM is what you need. Mine went in my '11 Lariat last fall. I have the Nav system. After much research, which included a lot of complaints about aftermarket, I went to my dealer and bought an OEM unit. Think it was around $50.00ish. No problems with the fan since install.
