Default Bumper Rust

I am going to sand and paint by front bumper. Question is has anyone used the rust oleum bed liner to do this? was going to get it linex but due to needing a new bed, rocker repair and roof rust repair plus paint i dont have the extra $ to get the linex done.

I'd just paint it with some black paint, then clear it with Spraymax 2K clear.

I had purchased a painted one to replace my chrome bumper. I sanded it down and had it linexd. Best decision I made. My friend sprayed the bed liner product on and it chipped off in a couple places. Not to say that won't happen to you but nothing has happened to mine yet

I sanded my front chrome bumper down to give it a hazy look, then sprayed it with duplicolor bed armour. It's the one that kind of looks like a plastic slip in liner.
The bumper turned out great, smooth with very little texture. and it's held up for about 9 months now, no chips or scratches, and it's been blasted with course road salt, and sand all winter.

Yeah I'm curious as to how the linex will hold up to the salt that we get on our Ontario roads in the winter.

LineX will be way stronger than the rattle can Duplicolor stuff I used and this stuff is holding up great.

About 2 weeks after I painted it, I drove from Sudbury to Fredericton New Brunswick, a good 1600 KM and the first stretch from Sudbury to Ottawa was in a storm, following slow traffic and snow plows the whole way.. that bumper was blasted with fresh salt and slush for 6.5 hours straight, no harm at all.

simple solution

durabakcomplany.com
you can get color matched bed liner in either smooth or textured ... depending on what color you want you could match their smooth texture and wouldn't have to worry
