Default Best aftermarket Bluetooth setup

When I bought my truck, I purposely stayed away from Sync. I read lots were having issues with it. I didn't think I would need it anyway, so I opted out. I now regret my decision. So I am looking for a good aftermarket Bluetooth system. Is there anything out there that can be adapted into my radio so I can get the displaty on the radio. Things such as caller ID, song titles...etc. This is not a must, but would be great. Most of what I am looking for is good functionality and a factory look. My radio has the phone button on it (as all do, I guess). So it would be good to integrate the call/hangup button into that nonused button.Thanx for any and all suggestions....

I havent seen anything on the market like that. There are several BT setups that will work with your phone but they won't be integrated like you want.

To achieve what you want you will most likely need an aftermarket double din HU. These can be had for around $400 for a nice touchscreen one with DVD, BT, ect built in. You would be looking at another $100 for dash kit and wire harness that plugs into factory harness so you don't have to splice wires.

I opted to do this as I hated the Sync features, I really love my HU. It shows all the info and stores the phone book, great Ipod itegration.

yea what he said. In my z I had a pioneer system that connected via bluetooth or usb to my iphone. Would display all the same info as the sync does in the truck and even album artwork!! I dont know if they could get one in the f150 and make it look good for cheap tho. seems like theyed have to make a whole new cover for that area

Just wondering if this install will affect my Sirius Radio. I am subbed for the next year (got a great deal BTW). Or does it just integrate the factory Sirius into the system.

Sorry for all the questions. Just want to get it all straightened out before I take the plunge...

You will lose the sirrius, You would have to get a new HU with sirrius in it (which most do or have add ons). You can use the stock antenae though.

I will take a pic later. It will not look as good as stock but it looks really good IMO. I like having all the Ipod stuff and phone stuff displayed on the big screen.

Here is a close option to stock if you want the look.

You could use a Rostra Converse kit that is almost completely plug and play. Just need an ignitiin wire or use a rap fuse. Integrating the stock phone button could be doable, but the cost factor will most likely stop that route.

Sound quality is OEM level. Universal up/down volume + phone button are the only controls. Mic is tiny, but I would see if the stock headliner piece is available just for looks.

I found a deal on my 2010 XLT and purchased it without Sync as well. I told my local shop I wanted a kit that looked and functioned like a stock unit and he highly recommended Got2bwireless. They put it in and I couldn't be happier...great sound and connects well. The only negative that has been reported to me that there is some road noise at interstate speeds. I installed where the cig lighter went and looks really clean. Here is the link:
