bed extender clip
Still getting used to navigating site so I wasn't sure where to post this. I've looked this up before and couldn't find an answer or the part. I bought bed extender from someone on craigslist and when I went to install it three weeks later one of the clips was broken. It would stay on, but when I would flip it one side would fall right out. Finally after two months of having it off I went to buy a metal T used on doors at the hardware store for $2.00 and fixed it. All it took was a pair of pliers and snips. Hope it can help someone. I attached picture of the part I bought and how I bent it. Would probably be much easier with a grinder because the metal was kind of thick for the snips and I couldn't cut the small grove up top. I ended up cutting through the middle of one of the holes.
I don't have the extender and not really sure how they work or their parts.
But, I really applaud your ingenuity to fabricate the fix needed. I have used many times the preformed metal "minding"/support brackets to fix stuff other than their intended uses. And most of the time, some fabrication and black paint was required.
No better feeling, plus usually done for only a few bucks.
A hacksaw works on that thicker stuff.

It is the oem one like mentioned above. I think they switched it in 2013 for the plastic one that folds in. Looks cool but I couldn't see myself spending that much for it. This one was $80 on Craigslist.

I was wondering what kijiji was. I had never heard of it. I'm guessing it's like craigslist for Canadia? I searched craigslist, offerup, letgo and Facebook but I didn't want to drive an 1 so I bought this one because it was nearby. Didn't realize it was broken lol.
