Backup Sensor drilling
So, I have a 2010 XLT Chrome F150 and it does not have the backup sensor feature that I love on my wife's Traverse. Anyway, I see these on ebay and am wondering - do you guys drill the hole in your chrome bumper with the included bit? I'm really not keen on drilling holes unless I'm absolutely sure it will not damage the bumper in any way. Thoughts?
Well, you will end up with holes in your bumper. But...you could get some back-up sensors to fill them in!
Seriously though, I'd check into getting the Ford factory one. Check with Tasca here and see what Justin can do for you in that department. I'm not sure how well the aftermarket ones will integrate with the computer, etc...

My previous truck was a 02 Lariat Screw, and I did this to mine. These kits come with an ordinary hole saw type bit. They actually work quite nicely. Drilled all 4 holes with no problems and no damage to the surrounding chrome. Sad to say the kit I bought didn't last long though, cheaply made (you get what you pay for). So if you do decide to do this, get a decent kit to install and check and double where you mount them to make sure there aren't any issues on where you are drilling. I guess if you take measurements from one with factory sensors, you can't go wrong.
had them put in my 2010 lariat.... i like my aftermarket better than the one that comes from the factory.
1) mine which is similar to the one above but has an led readout for each sensor, so if your closer more on one side or another only that led that goes to that sensor lights up with the distance
2) my after market not only has a led read out for each sensor, but it also has a read out like the one above that tells you 6.0 5.5 5.0 4.5 4.0 3.5 down to 0.0 with the beaping like the factory with the closer you get the faster and then a continious beap.
it works great is very accurate, the only thing so far that is a con for me is that when i remote start in the cold, the steam builds up on the sensor, and it senses that there is something there but actually it just needs wiped off, with the one i have at least it has 4 different sensors so when it does happen its only the sensor on the right, and i know whats up.
but even with this one crazy thing, i dont have any regrets having them installed.
