This is the antenna I took off my Screamin Eagle Road Glide. I put it on my truck the day I got it home from the dealer. It works just fine. I did need to use an adapter. Harley uses a different mount than Ford.

On my Mustang antenna, I pulled the ball off, cut the antenna to length I wanted, ground the antenna end down a bit so the ball would fit tightly and then glued the ball back on. Also works fine.

I put this directly from my Ultra limited on my 12SXT, I would go to the dealer and try it before you pay. The SE Road Glide is a different bike (besides being uglier) than my Ultra so the antenna mount might be different.

Have to try that. I have an 09 FLTRSE3 that I took off and went with an antennae in the fairing.

Okay, did a more extensive test today, drove down to my office and parked in the garage in the afternoon, worst time for AM reception,,with old autozone short antenna I would lose reception of the Palm Beach AM station half way down to Miami (80 miles away). With the HD antenna I had clear signal until I hit the indoor garage and lost signal like I would with the stock whip. FM no issue at all, "my" conclusion is this as good as the stock whip antenna, if not better.

That's great to hear. I live in the same area so I may give it a try.

Thanks

I bought this- $45 shipped - and it doesn't fit. The antenna end isn't threaded but the stock antenna is. $45 right out the window, I'm TOTALLY bummed.

Where do you guys find an adapter??

Wonder why mine fits and yours does not, I mentioned above to just stop by a dealer and try it before buying, HD dealers are very good this way.Check at autozone for an adapter, I had the AZ shorty on there but it broke, I did not add an adapter.
