Default Another Rear Lighting Thread - Different Angle

Different angle!!! Get it? I kill me!! Har har har....

Anyways, so I've been thinking a while about the whole more light for backing up / trailer issue.

After reading thread after thread after thread here and at that other F150 forum, I had a thought.

Has anyone thought about maybe drilling two 4" holes in the metal bumper and installing a surface mounted light? Maybe something with a ring bevel to lock it in? Even better analogy. Think post construction recessed lights.

Anyone do that one instead of mounting lights under the bumper, on the leaf springs, on the hitch and just about everywhere else?

Thanks,
Tim

Go for it! Best bet still seems to be the ones that mount on the hitch. For a trailer the best option is to put them on the trailer...

I think he's suggesting making large holes and mounting lights inside his bumper...

Thats a great idea, and since most of those type of lights are secured by a black rubber trim ring, it should blend in well with the black trim on the bumper and tailgate. I would consider the oval lights, like those found on heavy duty headache racks.

Be a pioneer, and post pics of your final product, or even the play by play of the install.

I don't get it either. Back when I had my 02, people were mounting driving lights in the bumper left and right so I'm not sure he would be a pioneer but it can be done.

Wow, ya'll sure know how to ruin a bad joke.

I don't know how many threads I looked at yesterday, and never found that one. I guess I didn't go back far enough. So off I go to read another one.

Here's a company thatI bought some LED's from for my home. They have a LOt of fixtures, even solar-powered LED's for RV's. You may find an easy solution here: http://www.theledlight.com/index.html
