Or maybe this will be able to give 5star more information on exactly what I want and they can then write a custom tune for this for me and I can turn around and sell the pedal commander.
Interested to hear what you find. Just finished my morning meetings... after staying up til 4:30 migrating an old fax server to Azure... yes, a fax server... welcome to 1999 everyone.

So after driving around for a little bit today here are my impressions.

1) The pedal commander makes things very interesting. It makes my 87 per/tow tune seem like the 91 performance tune. I broke tires loose a few times on accident, much like when I tried the 91 tune.

2) The delay is nearly non-existent on city mode and +4 (city mode 0 seemed very much like stock) and can be overcome 100% if you go to sport mode, even at -4 sport it was tire breaking from a stop. I was too scared to try sport + mode.....

3) the pedal commander will stay in my truck permanently. The tune is good for more power, but this does something different and it is FUN. Also the ability to play with the different modes on the fly makes it better than a tune alone. It takes too long to go back and forth with 5 star to get things right (I am assuming MPT too) and then to switch tunes takes about 10ish minutes.

I will need more testing to fully say if this overcomes the delay from a stop of ~3 seconds.

I agree: the PC does way more for seat-of-the-pants feel than a tune. I started from the opposite direction: did the PC first and WOW. Only after I got 35's and 4.10's did I drop a tune, and to be honest, I haven't really gotten the same "holy gee wilikers Batman" feeling with the 87 performance tune; and I drove a week after the wheels/gears before doing the tune, so I only had the PC during that time, so I have a base of reference to go by.

Where I feel the tune takes over is mid-range when the instant throttle response of the PC has faded; THAT's when I feel the tuner adds its mark.

Does the PC remove the delay or simply increase amount the power commanded at sooner point in throttle travel?

It removed about 90% of the delay that I was experiencing. I haven't driven extensively but that is what I have felt...I don't drive much any more with the covid stuff, I'm working from home.

I did just pull my 20ft open dual axle trailer the other day, and the delay was usually worse when pulling that. I noticed a huge difference there with VERY little delay if any.
