Yeah, the feel I get, is this is an electronic issue more than anything. As if a computer is lagging in its decision to open the TB. I need to do this a few more times, but over lunch I did the reset again. First impression this round was that fixed the issue, or at least became 'reasonable'. Drove out to refill the propane bottles for the travel trailer, then on the way home (after shutting the truck off) the hesitation was back.

I will try that a few more times, but, does that pedal procedure only reset the TB? If so, I am thinking that's a fairly sure sign... If not, what else does that procedure do? I will of course try cleaning it first.

As someone else put it, this is a thin line between total lag waiting for any response, and tire roasting territory.

Yes, I will do this either way. I plan at the moment to go through all the related components... I really want to know what causes this, it seems to wide spread. And, wanting to know is in my nature.

Agreed. I would love to know what causes it. Like I said, I cleaned everything I could that was air flow related and did pick up a couple mpg by doing so, but the hesitation was still there. It seems to be worse the hotter it is out. I wonder if it truly is just a drive by wire issue and the fix is just to get a pedal commander....

Wasnt there a procedure for throttle response? Something like put ignition to accessory and push the pedal three times or something? I have a screen shot somewhere but have to look it up

Yes, put key in ignition turn on but don't start, slowly press pedal all the way and quickly release. Turn key off and repeat 2 more times, start truck.

it helps, but doesn't 100% solve the issue.

Correct, and that's what I have tried. It did make a difference when I first bought the truck across the range of the pedal. Post #11 was my experience with that today. As well as my questions around it.

I just picked up a pedal commander (PC18 with bluetooth) cheap locally so we will see if this fully eliminates the pedal lag/delay (yes I am tuned but I asked 5 star a few times to fix it and it didn't work). If not, I am sure I can sell it for what I paid. I'll let you all know.

Sounds good. I checked two of my three MAF's, wicked clean. One more to go, and ill clean the TB, possibly replace. 5 star says on their site this is a known issue and their tunes fix it. So I am kind of surprised to hear that. I was reading them today trying very, very hard to resist the order now button.

My tunes are a couple years old, so maybe they have fixed it better since then, or maybe my issue isn't with the drive by wire delay at all...I will find out later today after my morning meetings when I take her for a test drive.

Or maybe this will be able to give 5star more information on exactly what I want and they can then write a custom tune for this for me and I can turn around and sell the pedal commander.
