Another 5.0. Tick question
I have been through as many threads as possible researching the many different ticks people have gotten.. my 2011 5.0 has got it bad.
It seems many people are having different types and in varying ways. Mine is all the time, warm or cold. It doesnt stop. Only time it's not noticed is when I start it on a completely cold, overnight start. But only at idle. It picks up as soon as I pull out the driveway. The tick is at idle, and ramps up with acceleration. When I let out of the throttle, it winds down loudly. Has a bit of a metallic sound.
Going to try to attach a short video.
Opinions?? Manifold leak? Lifter? Roller? Anyone have the exact same ticking that was fixed?

Do you have a check engine light illuminated? I ask as I would first be inclined towards an exhaust leak and those are commonly associated with random lean codes. Does the sound appear audibly equal from both sides of the engine compartment or louder on one side?
No CEL. Checked for codes as well. Nothing bringing up a code. It seems about the same from both sides, but I'll check that again.

Mine must be injector noise. I only hear it when in a drive through reflecting off a brick wall.
Just driving, I don’t hear it through the firewall.
I also tried going to 10/30w oil, did not help. My tick is quieter when cold, which also makes no sense.
Good luck.
