Default Amp powerstep question

I bought used powersteps from a forum member and finally got it all wired over this weekend. I am absolutely in love with them. I noticed today as I reached my destination that when I locked my truck with the fob I got the double horn honk as though there was an open door. I went around and checked all of the doors and they were all closed securely. Has anyone seen this issue after an Amp powerstep install?

Check your hood. Or, the door/hood sensors might be acting weird. No issues with AMP steps on mine.

I've had my amps on for over a year now, and can't say that I've encountered this issue. I would agree with STingray1300 though to check the hood.

Yeah. I thought about the hood as well and checked to make sure that was shut securely I guess I'll locate the actual sensors and ensure that there is no interference or other problems.

Same here, over a year with them on my truck and no issues as such.

I actually did a lot more than just the amps too. I finished all of my wiring for power fold mirrors and started the wiring for my six switches. I swear I locked the truck and only heard one horn honk the night I finished the other projects though. I will have to look at the good and door sensors. But I'm not getting any notice on the dashboard that I have a door ajar. I love when I finish a project and end up with these types of gremlins.

i'm with stingray, check you hood sensor. it might have gotten bent out of alignment. I don't know for sure but is the double honk indicative of a door being ajar? or does it just mean something is amiss.

Double honk means a door is still open. I'll have to look at the hood sensor. Just need to figure out where the damn thing is. I never had to look for it before.

Driver side fender about midway between firewall and grille, has an accordion looking rubber boot on it. Another thing that'll make it do the double honk is if you have a check engine light on or a malfunction code stored.

Oh. Let's hope that's it. Because I was leaning all over the gender in that area trying to run the amp and aux wiring under the wiper cowl. No CEL. I'll have to pull out my OBD thing to see if there are any stored codes.

Thanks for the help fellas. I'll let you know how it turns out.
