alignment cam?
got another quote today on leveling and this time it was even higher than the last. the guy quoted using pro-comp and told me the f150's were more expensive because they need an alignment cam for the alingment. this is the first i had heard this.
is that true?

Alignment cams are highly recommended because once you break the factory torque and move the LCA, there is a high chance that the alignment won't stay. I have no idea why Ford doesn't just include LCA cams from the factory. Cams also make it much easier to dial in the alignment on the rack.

Granted I haven't compared this LCA cam kit side by side with OEM cams but usually there is no difference. Most of the OEM alignment kits are just rebranded MOOG, Raybestos, or SPC stuff anyway. FWIW, I've been using SPC alignment kits for over 15 years and have never had an issue plus they have a great tech help line.
I think the opposite a bad alignment shop won't even bother with them. Anything beyond a stock factory alignment should have cams. Well we are allowed to have our opinions I put them on my leveled truck with my Bilstien's. No uneven tire wear, vibrations or clunks. Ford doesn't use them anymore to save costs so the current design of trucks straight from the factory with no modifications shouldn't require them.
