Default Album art .....

I have a jump drive with about 1500 mp3's on it that I listen to a majority of the time in my truck (13 fx4 with mft). Only about 50% of the album art shows up, does anyone know of an easy fix to get more artwork to show?

Check and see if the album art is in the metadata for the songs that don't display properly. If it is there, it should show up.

Hi 06kngrnch -

You can choose the source from which SYNC pulls your playlist’s Cover Art. If you prefer to display Cover Art from your device, then SYNC will see if there is artwork available on your device for the song you're playing. If Cover Art is missing, SYNC will then find it in the Gracenote database. Alternatively, you can have SYNC check the Gracenote database first and your device second. Each approach is designed to provide you the best Cover Art matches for the songs you're playing.

Depending on your selection, SYNC will either check the Gracenote database for a cover art match or scan your device to see if there is artwork available for the currently playing track.

To do this, touch the ENTERTAINMENT corner of your screen and go through the following: OPTIONS > MEDIA PLAYER SETTINGS > COVER ART PRIORITY

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Jaclyn

With 1500 mp3 cuts, suspect you (or friend that gifted) downloaded from the internet? While I won't get into legality of doing that (LimeWire, etc), I do know that some cuts I downloaded or was gifted some years ago before I was aware of copyright laws were missing album art. Um, no downloads for me since...

If you don't already have a utility on your computer, maybe install one such as MediaMonkey that will allow you to see what cuts have required files to display album art.

Thats just a fraction of whats in my itunes library.....I'm sure there are some downloads, and those don't baffle me (hence me mentioning the "unknown album" songs) but yet, just for example, 3 of 5 cd's that I freshly ripped and transferred just the other night. These particular three that don't show up are albums that have been out for a while, known artists, etc..... and again, FROM MY CD COLLECTION.

I'll take a look at media monkey, though, I already have one utility but im open to try others. I'm going to triple check my gracenote settings first though.

1,500 songs really isn't that much honestly. Over the past 10 years I have spent over 3K$ in iTunes which pretty much equals out to over 2500 songs. Between iTunes gift cards, weekly iTunes and Amazon free songs and CD rips from over the years people have well over 5K legit music play lists. So to "suspect" he got those from illegal sites etc isn't very fair imo.

Just to clarify, I wasn't accusing. My intention in replying to this thread was to be helpful. Word "suspicion" was related to reason for that missing album art which in your own scenario should have been part of downloaded mp3 cuts "I suspect". Sheesh, there I go again!

BTW, I used MediaMonkey to create playlists by genre in M3U format (rather than random play order) then loaded on an SD card in my moto Garmin Zumo GPS unit.

Okay so now I've got it knocked down to just a few newer albums missing art work.....I have found the artwork using a program, now how do I put it with the songs on the USB? Or do I have to do it on the computer and recopy the song files onto the USB?
