Default aggravating rattle in the cab...

So I took a 3 hour drive yesterday. I must say that the truck rides really nice for an extended period of time, and in the end averaged almost 21mpg

BUT, I was plagued the entire trip by an annoying rattling noise... To me it sounds like it was coming from the driver's side, where the front and rear door meets (supercab) near the top. It rattles on every bump and jolt in the road...

Just curious, any other scab owners had the same issue?

My 06 screw drivers side door rattles too. Gonna try adding some extra rubber in the jamb. Seems to be a chronic problem with these trucks.

There are little rubber bumper's on the door both front and rear...mine fall off all the time when I am detailing it...find them in the driveway and have to put them back on...this may be your rattle...also if you have a outside temp sensor mounted to your rear view mirror..they tend to slide down and rattle. Hope you find your rattle.

yeah I definately think it's not the loss of the little bumpers...

they're all there, and sure enough if I really slam the door like that link I posted talks about, it doesn't rattle...

so for now I'll just start shutting the door a little harder

I have noticed if the suicide door isn't closed forcefully, the latch doesn't fully engage . No rattles from mine yet.

Hey cool! That's my writeup (was gonna link you to it, but you found it already )

Slamming seems to help, but I don't think its a good long term solution. Maybe grab a papertowel and just test things out by running with it in there for a few miles? If your rattle goes away, the tape is a better way to go.

Hope that helps!

yeah I don't feel comfortable slamming the damn door every time I use it, lol

I'll have to try and wrap something around the latch

thanks
