I have a 2010 STX and I'm missing the keyless entry pad I had on my old 04 XLT, I live in fear of locking my keys in the truck haha. Can it be done to buy a handle with a keyless entry pad and hook it up? Just curious.

Such as this:

A dealer or someone else with an IDS will have to program the truck to make it work.
It's not as simple as it used to be. I added a keypad to my 06 and it was plug and play.

Where is the connection for it even located?

There should be an (unused) harness inside the door that the key pad will plug into. If you plug it in the lights on the keypad will work but the keypad won't.

A much simpler option is one of the stick on keypads. https://accessories.ford.com/actuator-asy.html
I prefer the harder, more expensive option.

OP, If I was you, I would get one of these and put it out of sight some where for emergency use.

I mean that's still 85 dollars, I might as well just buy the oem door handle from ford for 120 and have a factory look.
