Default A5 Navigation Update Card?

This forum has more participants than the Edge forum I follow, so I thought I would ask it here.

I have seen that an A5 navigation card was released in March to update the present A4 card. Has anyone received it with their recently purchased F150 yet?

I would imagine the new card may be included with vehicles built after the March release. Or are they still shipping with the A4 card until that supply is depleted?

I found several A5 cards on eBay but not at a price I am willing to pay yet without knowing how much was updated. I also know there is supposed to be a big upgrade this year for the AppLink in many cars, including my 2013 Edge.

I wonder if the A5 card might be included as a part of that upgrade, such as when they replaced my A3 card with an A4 card after one of the previous Sync updates that required a new card.

Hi, ls973800 -

The A5 cards are not yet available on HERE.com (formally Navteq).

Dealerships are able to order them, but I do not have pricing information at this time.

As I obtain more details, I'll be sure to pass them along.

What is the difference between the A5 card EM5T-19H449-AA and EM5Z-19H449-AA

Looking to upgrade from an A4 DM5T-19H449-AA in a '13 F150.

Joe, it's probably just an update for new roads that were built since the release of the A4. That's the way my Garmin updates have worked. I have ordered an A5, and if my little brain can remember I'll drop back here with a better report. It should arrive at the house in a couple days.

The A5s are popping up on eBay and they claim to be genuine...

Great board here. Lots of good conversation here.

Just picked up an A5 DM5T-19H449-AA. I'll post up results when I receive it here in a few days. Still curious the differences between the T and Z designations.

I purchased a A5 EM5T-19H449-AA. Works in truck without issue. Used it Friday. Still would like to understand the difference or applicability of the A5 EM5Z-19H449-AA.

The extended question would if map updates are solely tied to the A# or if they are updated as well with changes to the part number. FWIW our '12 Edge uses the same "T" designation card.

Think of the #'s like this..

A5 = model#

EM5Z-19H449-AA = serial#

Received my A5 the other day I ordered off Ebay. New, sealed in the pack, and it works fine. Bought it from seller "Stockholm" in Virginia. Ready for that long road trip in August if gas doesn't hit six bucks a gallon by then.

Loaded mine tonight and under system information, it says A5. I put the old one back in and it said A4. It seems legit...or "off the back of the truck" legit.

The A4 says DM5T-19H449-AA and the A5 says EM5T-19H449-AA. So I guess the version corresponds to the letter. Can anyone confirm if the A3 card was CM5T-19H449-AA?
