Having this feature turned on is certainly everyone's choice. To clarify some information, a call to 911 will be initiated if you are involved in an accident that deploys your vehicle’s airbags—or, in some vehicles, activates the emergency fuel pump shut-off.

I agree that those that want this feature should have the choice to have it on, that said those that want to disable it should have the same choice. Our rights to privacy and choice shouldn't be decided by others. There's no place that I drive my truck that someone on the scene with a cellphone wouldn't be able to call in a major crash. Ford deciding that their going to use my cellphone to call 911 is not needed or wanted.
