Default $$$ 8 dollar Puddle Lights!!

Ok I looked at doing this mod and figured, why pay 30 bucks per light from the dealer when 1, it probably isn't that bright and 2, i would only have to change the bulb for an LED light! So I found a great solution for 8 bucks! you can get these at superbrights in different colors if you would like! So now for the how to's!

Great mod! Too bad mine was missing one when I bought it so I might as well just buy the puddle lights.

How much for the bit used to cut the hole in the black plastic cap?

I love the idea and your finished result, but most people dont have the tools to accomplish this without losing a finger or two.

What if you built and sold them for us that are interested ?

I will get some night pictures for you guys but I doubt it will be for a couple of days! I am going to get over a foot of snow here in the next 36 hours! Well at least I get to check out the 4 wheel drive! I didn't think I would get that experience for 8 months or so! As for the drill bit, you can just use a hole saw which you can get anywhere cheap! Just take your time and I am sure you won't have any problems. Use the pliers to keep it from spinning and keep your fingers from getting in the way! As for the light at night!! I have night lights outside and thought it wasn't too bad at all, then I went to a place that didn't have any lights and was very impressed. it lights up from the front of the front tire back to the fuel filler! I will still try to get some pictures and I will include the bed lights, side steps and tailgate step.. I did those also and I hope I can capture how good they work. The tailgate step lights up about a 20 foot wide by 15 foot long area. I put a momentary switch down between the tailgate and the bed and when you open the tailgate the bed, tailgate step and both side steps all light up!

Extra, I bet that cap isn't that much and you may find your dealer has one laying around. Or you could try the one you have and only order one puddle light. That way you will be able to see just how much brighter the Mod one is. If you did that it would save you some money and I would put the OEM one in the passenger's side!

I'll have to check prices on Tasca. I'm an hour from our nearest dealer so that's kinda out of the question.
