Default 5.0L Engine Knock

Hi there everybody, before I confuse and stress myself to the grave I thought I would consult the forum. I have a 2011 Supercrew 5.0L and I've noticed a light engine clicking possibly coming for the right 4 cylinders. I'm taking it to Ford later this evening, but I can't always trust their judgement. Anyone know what would cause an engine with less than 40000km to click? Is anyone else experiencing this issue with their 5.0L? I should have bought an ecoboost haha!

Thanks a bunch ladies and gentlemen!

Ford fuel injectors are a little noisy.

I have a light engine ticking as well but it would make since if they are noisey fuel injectors. Let us know what the dealer says!

My engine makes a very subtle knocking noise at idle, in park. It seems like a crank bearing or something. Of course the trained to lie mechanics at the dealers say, its normal. EVERYTHING to them, is normal. Good luck with your noise! Hope they dont say, cant duplicate at this time, no repair needed.

Well I took the trip to the Ford Dealer and they are VERY aware of this light knocking noise. It only applies to 5.0L's built in December 2010. It's supposedly quite a endeavor to replace this metallic something inside the cylinder walls. I'm tempted to say piston ring, but I think that's something different.

Anyways, I'll keep you all posted. Next Thursday (November 3rd) I'm taking it in to get my baby all fixed 8 hour job!!

My 5.0 was built in December 22, 2010 and I have no sound at all other then the rumble from my Magnaflows.

Please keep me up to date. This concerns me.

Hey there, I Will keep you posted. I took it to the dealer to get it fixed and unfortunately the head mechanic went home sick. I going to have to reschedule. Your truck was built on the same day as me dude!

Turns out it was something to do with the bolts holding on the A/C "stuff". The mechanic talked so fast I had no idea what he was saying. The bolts will be replaced the next time I bring it in. None of this harmed the truck @justjimmy
