Hmmm...thats interesting and it will be even more interesting if it fixes the problem.

Default Prepare to be stressed....

I have same knock. 2012 f150 5.0L. It has been in several times. They have all heard it. Every time I take it in they say its normal and they can't do anything. There are literally dozens of people saying same thing!! This is NOT a normal knock! Mine is EXACT same as all the dozens I see on here and YouTube. It comes and goes. The "Hotline" is BS. My dealer says she has several others waiting for a fix. Obviously they are more patient than I am. I worry my warranty will expire and then....BOOM!!! On the side of the road in the middle of nowhere......

The knock has NOTHING to do with AC bolts! The cylinder liners are very thin, and due to a modification Ford made to the cooling jacket on the right bank, the tops of the cylinders 3 and 4 are slightly out of round. This causes excessive heat and eventually damages the piston - and there's your knock. My build date is Nov. 2011, and with only 9,400 miles mine has just begun to knock on the right bank when cold. After a few minutes of warmup the knock disappears as the piston expands with no knock after warmup. This knock is definitely a metallic knock in the lower end, and it's usually cylinders 3 and 4. This knock on a low mileage engine makes me absolutely sick. If the engine is ever replaced, it gets a Ford re-manufactured short or long block. It will never be like factory new. If I could afford it, I would upgrade to a Ford Racing Aluminator and supercharge it.

I am NOT letting them get away with this. I live in Canada so not sure how the laws work but I will find out.

Stand your ground! It's not normal. Ask to start up, and stand alongside, a few new 5.0's and see what they sound like. Years ago I exercised the lemon law in California on a 2004 F350 with a 6.0L powerstroke with a steering/wander issue. I lost because they all did it. I wish you the best.
Edit:
Found a good article from SVT Ford Racing on the water jacket changes in the coyote block. http://www.svtperformance.com/?p=3111
