Is the 5.0 supposed to have a cover on the motor? It seems like mine is missing.

Nope but I'm sure it won't be long where we can buy an aftermarket cover similar to the 5.0 mustang cover.

 

The 5.0 is not supposed to have a shroud/cover on the engine. I thought it looked odd too, since just about every other Ford I've seen in the past 15 years has a small shroud around the throttle body/intake manifold (such as the Modular V8s) if not a full-on engine-covering shroud like the EcoBoost or just about every other Duratec-derived engine. I don't mind the lack of a shroud as it makes cleaning and servicing the engine easier
