Default 4 years in a row

I swear I'm not making this up. I posted almost exactly a year ago about my intermittent instrument panel problems. It has worked fine since last year until today, August 1st. This is the 4th August in a row that it has acted up. I won't go into detail, it's all in my last post. It's just crazy. May be heat related but it was plenty hot in July too. Does it on a cold engine or comes and goes as you drive. I still don't want a new one though

You can replace the ignition lock cylinder or place a shim between the end of the cylinder and the bar that presses against the ignition lock

ford’s official fix is to replace the lock cylinder….about $30 at local parts store
it comes with all the parts to match the cylinder lock to YOUR key

I replaced the ignition module a year ago today. I was told the actual key cylinder would not cause the problems I'm having. It didn't act up again until last Thursday. Been sitting in the garage since then. I've been checking it and sometimes when you open the door the dash lights come on and sometimes they don't.

When you say "fords official fix" are you referring to the chime not working when the key is in the ignition with the door open? Or something more like my electrical gremlins? The ignition module fixed my chiming issue.

Perhaps you might consider including a link to the other thread. If you don't mind a little constructive criticism, you probably should have just updated that thread instead of making another new one. Now you have three threads about this issue.
