Default 2014 projector hid replacement

I am in need of some serious help. I am looking for some aftermarket headlights (I want cool led strips in my headlight tooooo). I’ve been looking everywhere and I can not find any headlights that will work with the ds3 xenon hid projector bulbs. Everyone of them says that the only work on the stock led headlights. Does anyone know of any aftermarket headlights that will work for the stock projector housing. Or of a conversion kit to go from the projector bulb plug to led plug?

You make it sound like you are looking for an LED bulb to go in your current fixture, or you are looking for another fixture that you can use your current bulbs with. HID and LED do not cross over. You either need to stick with the HIDs or get complete new fixtures for LEDs. There are no stock LEDs for a 2014.

No my clear coat on my headlights is shot and I’ve taken them apart to paint them twice now. The plastic on the back of the headlight housing is warped from doing it twice. I am in need of a new headlight completely. And the ones that catch my eye are all halogen style headlights only.

Some thoughts as you consider your options for new headlights. Some of the cheaper aftermarket headlights out there are indeed "projector" headlights, but are not compatible with HID bulbs. So if you were to purchase a set of those you might be disappointed with their appearance and/or output. Additionally, those cheaper aftermarket projector headlights do not come with LED turn signal or side marker bulbs--they utilize the OE bulbs; for a complete upgrade you'd have to purchase and install LED turn signal and side marker bulbs of your choice.

I purchased a set of HID retrofit headlights for my F150 which I have been very pleased with. Custom retrofits are still pretty easy to find, and many sellers offer a wide variety of DRL/halo etc. options to make your headlights truly unique. However, install of HID retrofits with such customized options usually require a little extra wiring work.

I've seen a handful of F150s around with the "full LED" style headlights. They look pretty good and from what I can tell are a definite improvement over both OE halogen and projector. I can't speak to installation, but many are advertised as being plug and play.

If I were in the market for new headlights, I would strongly consider the Morimoto XB LED headlights. They aren't cheap, but Morimoto is a reputable brand.

After a fender bender I replaced my oem hids with the morimotos and they’re awesome. The price hurt but the lights are great. My oem ones are for sale if anyone needs one. The passenger side is undamaged, what’s left of the drivers side still works and might be useful for parts I don’t know.

Just things to consider - I would agree with the poster that recommends finding a reputable retrofit supplier. At least then you can replace the bulbs and such if something goes wrong and the light output is probably much better

I went with the morimoto XB, huge upgrade from the stock halogens, i can actually see at night, plus you can have the cool sequential turn signals in the top yellow LEDs if you want.
Not sure how the light output compares with the factory projectors.

i had an opposite interaction. bought a set of the xb new direct from mori and the passenger side outer leds that ring the housing stopped working after a few weeks. one phone call and a short conversation later the new one was on the way to me free of charge. they accidentally sent the wrong side and then over-nighted me the correct one and sent two shipping labels for the return.

OP - i had halogen and bought some custom built hids. as time went on and various leds started going out on me (halo, c-bar color change, etc) i bought the moris for a solution with warranty. as far as brightness this was my experience from stock halogen to today, worst to first with 1-10 rankings:

spyder c-bar (projector, halogen) (1-2 - could barely see at night)
stock halogen (2-3)
spyder c-bar (projector, led bulb - would not recommend due to output pattern) (3-4)
mori xb (8 - great output and patterns but no quite as bright as hid)
spyder c-bar (custom built with hid) (10 - awesome output, awesome pattern)
