There’s plenty of videos on YouTube comparing light output across oem hid and various aftermarket options.

Additionally, those cheaper aftermarket projector headlights do not come with LED turn signal or side marker bulbs--they utilize the OE bulbs; for a complete upgrade you'd have to purchase and install LED turn signal and side marker bulbs of your choice.

I purchased a set of HID retrofit headlights for my F150 which I have been very pleased with. Custom retrofits are still pretty easy to find, and many sellers offer a wide variety of DRL/halo etc. options to make your headlights truly unique. However, install of HID retrofits with such customized options usually require a little extra wiring work.

I've seen a handful of F150s around with the "full LED" style headlights. They look pretty good and from what I can tell are a definite improvement over both OE halogen and projector. I can't speak to installation, but many are advertised as being plug and play.

If I were in the market for new headlights, I would strongly consider the Morimoto XB LED headlights. They aren't cheap, but Morimoto is a reputable brand.

What brand of HID replacements did you go with? thanks
