Default 2013 projector DRL's?

well i couldn't find a thread on this so here i go. i just got a pair of the oem black projector housings. and most of it is pretty easy to wire up my only problem is i want the factory turn signal DRL to work. does anyone know where i can splice into for this. so far i'm coming up blank because if i splice it like a normal DRL it won't turn off when the parking lights come on.

Hi.

Plenty of threads on this - the Dealer can program the DRL redirect on a 2013+ F150. NO SPLICING - Yay!!!

Just drop 'DRL' into Advanced Search. That's what it's there for. Just looking through pages of thread alone is purty much useless (and frustrating) on a forum this active.

Here's a couple of hundreds: https://www.f150forum.com/f38/activa...lights-207448/

EDIT - Are these OEM HID's, or some cheap aftermarket housings, Like Recon, Spyder, etc. Pics?

good luck!

no these or oem, hids, and i don't think the dealer can help cause i used a bully dog to turn the DRL module off. also the truck already has DRL's in the form of the headlights themselves. it's just a dimmer version of the driving lights. pretty much the turn signal bulb that goes into these housings has 3 cables instead of 2 the third wire is for the DRL. the prblem is if i hook it up to the factory DRL it will come on at the same time as the headlights and i don't won't that.

Explain this please. Is it not reversible?

The dealer can perform redirects from heads to turnsignals if that module is active, I believe.

I think the last thing you want to do is start splicing/hacking into a new vehicle's wiring. I can see warranty issues down the road with that.

the bully dog tuner has a built in option to activate or disable DRL's i can reactivate them, I didn't know the dealer could redirect the DRL circuit i thought they could only turn on or off. and even then every dealer around here doesn't even want to touch anything like that. i tried before to get them to re adjust the speedometer and they all tell me they can't.

Hi.

That's sad, but no uncommon. It's hugely profitable for them - a couple minutes and $100. It's not as if yer asking them to turn it off - just redirect.

I'd keep looking for someone to do it - some folks have access to / own Ford's IDS systems other than dealers - so start calling some larger independent shops.

Splicing is the very last resort.

good luck

You do know plug and play harness are readily available to do all of that without resorting to splicing?

Check out www.theretrofitsource.com. they have all sorts of specific quality harnesses to do purty much ever'thang - and even sell the connectors to do stuff more custom. There is ZERO need to splice anymore. Factory connections can - and should - be used.

Splices are just future problems, headaches and reliability-killers.
