Default Activating DRL daytime running lights

Is there any way to active DRL feature on 2012 fx4? It's in the manual and says if equipped. How can you tell if you truck is equipped? I have automatic lights.

Equipped just means enabled. Any dealer can enable it. Some charge some don't. Some will tell you it can't be done but it can. It takes about 5 min.

Really? I thought it was a country-specific thing - like req in Canadian shipments, not so in US. Just something done via computer link, huh?

I'm going to have the dealer activate mine when I have my first oil change done. There are times in dusky/cloudy conditions that I end up switching on the park and fog lights to increase visibility of the truck to other drivers. Not sure why Ford didn't enable them from the factory since most other companies are doing it already.

yes. Gabus did it on my 13 fx4 before we got there. I asked for it after we nailed down a price, gotta make it a bargain somewhere lol.

Very interesting. I suppose I'll ask Gabus to do this as well when I go in for my first oil change (lifetime free at this dealer!) - but I'm going to be one eagle-eyed MFer on those dudes in the garage. Don't want any "I don't know how that go there" dents/dings/other crap...

If you hunt at all, you might not want DRLs turned on- I had them activated on by '12 F250 and learned you can't turn them off to drive up to a hunt spot in he dark. At least find out if they can be turned off when needed.

Just a word of warning, in my owners manual bundle they gave me, they have the first oil change reminder sticker in there - it says 5/20 for the oil grade and 5000 miles.

See, as you may know the ecoboost uses 5/30.

Just be eagle-eyed to make sure they realize 5/20 is not right. If they printed it on the sticker, they got that from somewhere. Probably just whoever did it 'assumed' all f-150's take 5/20 but they don't.

I HATE taking my vehicles in (other one is a '13 infiniti g37xS) for anything.
