2013 battery indicator
Hey guys/gals,
I have a 2013 F150 5L, battery indicator came on dash lights, I replaced battery last fall, just replaced alternator, and indicator light still on. While truck is not running getting 12.5v on multi meter and 14.2 while truck is running. Anyone have any ideas why indicator light is still on?
Thx in advance for any help or suggestions.

You will probably need a decent scan tool or Forscan. These trucks have a battery system that can vary when the alternator turns on and even vary how much voltage.
Typically the battery light comes on when the Alternator field is not flashing and providing voltage. however you need if and when its calling for charging. Also when you change the battery there is an option you need to let the pcm know its a new battery or battery age.

If you installed an aftermarket alternator then you found the problem. Aftermarket is literally ignorant on how these smart alternators work, they throw them on a machine and if they put out voltage and amperage, call them good which couldn't be further from the truth.
Return it for a refund and get a genuine Ford reman or new if you have deep pockets and be done with it.

I have the same problem in my 2010.2010 F-150 Voltage Regulator Problems.
The alternator regulator failed on my 2010 F-150.
The regulator went out and the truck went into limp mode in heavy traffic. I pulled over for a few minutes restarted the truck and drove about five miles to my home without incident.
Upon checking the alternator output with a voltmeter it showed about 15.5 volts.
I checked the battery and the voltage output as per factory procedure and everything checks out okay.
After replacing the alternator I still have a battery warning on the console.
Charging is about 14.5 at about 20 to 30 amps under driving and normal idling operations.
The voltmeter in the car matches readings I take under the hood.
The new alternator is working great.
I have driven the truth around 100 miles without any problems.
Starts fine and runs great.
I just want the warning to go away.
Why is the waning indicator still on? Is this a Ford scam to get $500?
I noticed another poster said the OEM alternate did not cure the problem.
Can someone recommend a scan tool to resolve the issue?
