Default 2011 Performance Thread

I wanted to start a thread about performance, specifically for the 5.0 and EB. This will be a place to discuss or share info about how these two engines respond (hp/tq/mpg) to modifications. I mostly mean the simple mods of exhaust, intake, programmers...etc. As of right now, I can't find much for either engine. I know there has to be some companies toying with these engines to see how they respond. If you come across some new info...post it.

Some questions/curiosities I have:
-Will the 5.0 respond similarly as the Mustang 5.0 engine to basic mods? (Yes, I realize it's almost a totally different engine...but you never know)
-Could the EB be a sleeping monster like the old 03-04 cobra engines?
-How much power can either short block handle?
-Could some simple mods get the EB into the +25 mpg range?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to turn a F-150 into a muscle car. But it is interesting to see how these engine respond. The most I would ever do to a truck is exhaust, intake, and programmer IF it was worth it...hence the purpose of this thread. Enjoy

I'm curious about this too. Their was a thread on here talking about a programmer that was available but it was pretty expensive. A tuner that has a towing tune that could increase low end torque would be awesome.

I know Stainless Works is introducing a new exhaust system for the 2011 F-150 in March. They make some really nice systems. Hopefully they'll do a dyno test.

Hennessey's website says Ecoboost parts/upgrades are coming soon. Should be very interesting. Hennessey always puts out quality parts.

Here's a video of Borla's ATAK cat-back on a 2011 5.0. Sounds pretty nasty...a little loud for my taste. Borla is the first manufacture I have seen post a video of aftermarket exhaust for the 5.0.

Too funny, I would be laughing all day driving that. It sounds like the Velicoraptor on TopGear.

I ordered the AFE Stage 2 Pro Dry S intake (I have a 5.0 V8). It's supposed to be coming this week sometime. I don't expect much out of it, but it'll look nice and hopefully have a great sound. I'll post my impressions once it gets in.
