You should never power wash under the hood, not recommended to even just hose off. Too many electrical connectors, start cleaning every connector with contact cleaner. Make sure to disconnect the battery before starting. I doubt the engine is bad, just an electrical problem.

It isn't hard to get water in the air intake when power washing under the hood. It doesn't take much. And then it gets into the engine. Once again it doesn't take much to ruin the engine.

This is very fishy! I have a 6.2 that I have taken off road and buried the hood in a puddle and had no problems! These motors are so strong and one with 20k is a dream find. Definately get a second opinion. Perhaps the shop did something and are trying to pass it off as something you did. Good luck and I would keep the 6.2 and rebuild it.. It's an amazing motor.

water getting in the coils and the truck not starting wouldnt do anything unless you cranked it for 2 days and washed the cylinders

Now that's a decent puddle.

Yeah, it really surprised me and didn't think it was that deep.Funny thing is, it was one road in and out, so I had to come back through it to get out!,
