Default 08- 09 changes?

I'm thinking of buying a 08. I noticed the forms are split on the 08-09 why is this? Should I forgo the 08 and look for a 09?

Body style changed in 09. So if you want latest body style...look for at least 09. Go to Edmunds, or wikipedia to see what the changes are.

U already asked this two other times how about go looking at the two differences in person. The 08 has a more proven transmission but the 09 looks better. Get what u like the most.

I have looked, I was just unaware of what lies underneath. I did a search and found the 08 had trans problems then was changed in 09. I want to tow my car to the track and this may become an issue. So, you'r saying the 08 trans was better because why?

The 08 does not have more proven issues with the trans? Have you worked in a dealership to know this? So because you read the forums and noticed all the people who complain no matter what they own you assume it has more problems?

The 09 is a new animal. A simple search on google would reveal that just FYI

LOL- I did a Google search and this site came up with trans problems. I thought this f150 site and would have such information. It's on this site I learned about the split year forms. This is why I signed up and started asking questions. BTY, I have worked at a dealership just not a Ford dealership. I know most people complain when they have problems. That's when I get to work on the three C's.

Buy what u like the most so I'll be happy to drive it. A 2012 may be cheaper with 0% financing or a 2011.

I found a 2008 f150 super crew Lariat W/nav black on black W/62000 miles for $22k. that I like. It's just American cars are foreign to me. Not sure about the factory warrantee if any? I'm on the fence if I should go for it or get a newer 09+ animal?

If you're up to a 2009+, you should check out new instead of used - Ford really pushes them, you can usually get a very nice deal on one. Can usually get away with better payments than on a used vehicle.

Factory warranty is 1 year / 12,000 miles "EVERYTHING" (including windshield wipers, for example), 3 years / 36,000 miles bumper to bumper, and 5 years / 60,000 miles powertrain.

Extended warranties are fairly cheap - if you buy them online, after you buy the truck.

When you say pull your car, how heavy is the trailer?

Is it a V-nose or flat-nose trailer?

I agree, new is very affordable. I don't exactly make a lot of money but the dealer was able to put me in an XLT with all the options I wanted. It's definitley worth it, especially with the new engine line up.
