This appears to be one of those little amplifiers you are mentioning already prewired. You can just purchase the Parrot FOR-11CK harness and the small amplifier yourself and save a LOT of money... really easy install too.

Alpine amplifier.
Pioneer amplifier.
Soundstream amplifier.

Contact Hushcaraudio on this forum, he may be able to hook you up with a mini amplifier. You can fit them right behind the stock radio, and with the FOR-11-CK harness, it will be plug and play.

I need an opinion fella's. What set up do you think will get me the best bang for the buck. I have an appointment for install Friday morning.

I am thinking about leaving the OEM dash speaker and the OEM rear door speakers since these are realistically "fill in" speakers.

1. Swap all 7 speakers + mini 4 channel amp ( 45w RMS x 4 )

or

2. Quality 6x9 components + mini 4 channel amp bridged ( 90w RMS x 2 )

I was thinking if I went with option 2 the money I would save could afford me better quality component speakers and I could give them more power. If the fronts are getting the juice then I probably would not even notice the rear fill anyway.

*** If I went with the second option. If I opted for a 2 channel amp I would need a line out converter right ?

Here is what I've gone with.
Ive installed the speakers already and it made a nice upgrade.
Im waiting for the wiring harness I ordered from Amazon to arrive so i can install the amps

All this I bought through Crutchfield since they included the speaker and wiring adapters needed.

Kicker Key 180.4 amp https://www.crutchfield.com/p_206KEY...-4.html?tp=115
Rockford Fosgate rears https://www.crutchfield.com/p_575R16...-Speakers.html
Rockford Fosgate fronts https://www.crutchfield.com/p_575R16...9X3.html?tp=91
Wiring Harness -
Amazon Amazon

Even though I dont need it I got a Kicker Hideaway 11HS8 sub for a cheap price (135) on Ebay and will be adding to the system.

So i will be spending about $ 465 on this and will be doing my own install.

Number 2. You don't need a line out converter if the amp has high level inputs. I would also disconnect the center speaker. You might consider a round speaker component systems with and adapter plate.

My truck is currently at the shop now getting upgrades done. It was dropped off at 8am this morning. The installer had me originally planned for a set of HERTZ 6x9's up front and an amp to power them with roughly 90-100w RMS a piece. He thought this was gonna make a significant improvement in the truck based on my what goals are.

I was just given a call to discuss and alternative option. ( I am new to FORD SYNC stuff ). The installer tells me my OEM system is a "Revel" system that is not the OEM base model system ? I am being told that the amp in my truck is already a decent amp for what my end goal is. I kind of see what the installer is saying, because my truck already sounds pretty loud, but could be cleaned up a little bit. I was advised that I can swap it out, but the wiring harness to do so is costly and removing something could compromise the other systems in the radio. I was under the impression there is the base 7 speaker stereo and the B&O stereo for the 2018 trucks ?

After discussing options and budget with my installer. I decided to invest into some speaker upgrades for the time being and see what kind of results I get and move forward from there. I am hoping to get some improvement with the better quality speakers

Audison Prima 4" coax in the center channel.

Audison Prima Tweeters in the Pillars

Hertz ECX-690.5 in the front doors.

The Revel system is also the B&O. Do you have a logo on your center channel speaker grill? The speaker upgrade alone will make a huge difference. When you are ready for an amp upgrade, you will need the NavTV zen a2b. Since the b&o amp using an a2b usb communication protocol, there aren't wires running from the headunit to the amp. It's just a mini usb. It's a completely digital signal. Definitely save for the zen. It's the only plug and play option out there currently.

Am I not looking in the right places ? I am struggling to find any detailed information about this Revel system as far as specs go.

The front stage speakers are for sure a noticeable improvement over the factory speakers. The highs are drastically cleaner/crisp compared to the stock speakers. There was no increase in bass thump, however the bass response feels tighter and precise. There is no "booming roll off" compared to the oem speakers. I hope that makes some sense lol. It can be difficult to explain sound into words HAHAHAHAHA.

I stated earlier in the thread I was not interested in a sub at this time, however after the speaker upgrade ( notably the improved highs ) I am still craving a little more bass. I was hoping to achieve my goals with some amped speakers and call it day. Am I able to add a sub to this Revel system without having to drop $850 for that crazy harness, or am I suck until I spend the money ? I am not that much of an audiophile to drop that kind of money on just a harness lol. That kind of money can go to other mods.

If I could add a sub to this Revel system I would consider a single 8 or 10 inch sub pushing 150-200w RMS. I would want to mount it behind the rear seats, or under the passenger side rear seat. I love the ability to fold up the driver side rear seat for floor space. If adding a sub without that harness is not possible I may just throw in some 6.5 mid bass drivers in the rear doors and call it a day.

Do you have a b&o logo on your center channel speaker grill? If you don't, your shop misinformed you about which system you have. There is non-amplified and amplified b&o systems for our trucks. It's either one or the other. The amplified version will have a logo on the front of center channel speaker grill. The rest of your questions can't be answered until we know that piece of information.

There is no B&O logo on my center dash speaker grill. I thought this was a bit odd as well, when it was explained to me by the installer. I could only take him at his word, because I am not familiar with the newer SYNC radio’s offered by Ford.

This is gives me hope that can infact add a mini amp with a harness for about $200-250 total. The more I have read the more I am looking into the Kicker Key mini amp.

You do not have the amplified b&o/revel system then. No need for the zen. Go get a harness! Also, no need to worry about forscan. There is no factory eq to flatten.
