Default Help needed after amp install

I installed the kicker key using the FOR-11CK. After installation there are a couple of things that are still weird. The speaker in the center of the dash seems to be powered by the head unit while all the others are powered by the key. The most concerning is that there is a hum with the volume on zero...when I turn the truck off I can still hear a very slight noise coming from the speakers that sounds like its still picking up an audio signal which isn't allowing the amp to turn off so I know its going to run until my battery is dead. I cannot figure it out. Do you think its a grounding issue? Right now I have it setup as DC and the remote wire is not being used. Any ideas??

Sounds like a bad ground causing that humming. As for the center speaker, most people disconnect it.

The first thing I tried was connecting directly into the harness using the FOR-11CK. When the problem continued I assumed it was a grounding issue. I tried grounding to an external ground outside of the harness (I used a screw under the metal framing of the dash) and that changed nothing. I'm stumped. The feedback, even after the key is out, head unit is off, and door has been opened literally sounds like muffled talking like its picking up radio signal. With the truck running and the volume all the way down there is a medium pitched hum. I'm out of ideas. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Check your grounding for the hum. Chassis grounding didnt work for me either. I ran all the way back to the battery and have never had an issue since. The center speaker is wired directly to the head unit, the FORCK11 harness does not interrupt it. Some people just disconnect it, some leave it alone. As for power, DEFINITELY tap into fuse #23 in the passenger footwell and run to the remote turn on for the amp. It's the circuit for the 120v inverter and turns on after the radio.

Yeah find a better grounding point. Take an ohm reading to the point and measure resistance. If you don't have one literally just run a line from the battery or front seat floor bolt to the ground to see if the noise goes away. I'm pretty certain that grounding point you picked isn't good enough. I usually wrap and cover the harness ground on that FOR-11CK and have people using another source for ground.

Thats exactly what I thought. Could the ground in the factory harness be causing the issue? Even without the amp there is a very slight hum with volume at zero. The amp could just be making the problem worse. I tried grounding under a bolt in the dash framing to see if that would help with no luck. I figured for such a small unit that would be more than sufficient.

The power source is just as important as the ground source. Doesn't matter how good your ground is if your power source is junk. You need a dedicated power source that is not your headunit.

Now I'm also wondering where was the power connected to the Kicker coming from?

I get a short humm from mine when opening the door, but have put that to the system powering up at the fuse box and supplying power to the Key amp, sub amp. After that initial humm it is dead quiet till I turn on the radio. I wired the Key and sub power wires to the foot-well fuse panel with a fuse tap. Grounded the Key to the dash framing metal the sub to seat anchor bolt checking both for ohm resistance.
I do not think the center should be connected for the Key tuning program, it certainly isn't needed after setting the Key amp! KM
