Default Best reasonable priced speakers without sub

Hi guys I have a plaine jane stereo in my truck (2009 XLT with sync). I am planning on doing the Alpine KP-445 amp mod and replacing my speakers. What speakers give the best sound without having to have a subwoofer. I see a lot of threads about the great sound of speakers but most talk about adding subs. I'm not going to do that.

Suggestions?

I like Rockford Fosgate Primes... the Infinity highs are way too harsh for my ears.

You will get a dozen different answer. I use Polks and love them.

I'm a JBL fan. Power series preferably. Just keep in mind so much more effects the sound. HU used, processor, EQ, amps. I like to shop by specs and see what my options are. For example I knew I wanted 2 ohm, over 90 sensitivity, and 75 watts or better RMS. Those specs led me to my JBL powers. Just a thought.

Iv had Rockford, mtx, eclipse, kicker, kenwood. All relatively the same but if your not adding a sub I would highly recommend Kicker they are reasonably priced and have a bassy effect to them. Best to worst That I experienced

1) kicker
2) Rockford
3) eclipse
4) mtx
5) kenwood

Hope this helps.
