I installed all the door speakers this afternoon minus the tweeters for the pillars. The front speakers are 3 way and I'm wondering if you think the tweeters for the pillars will be too much now? I have to make adjustments in the eq as at certain volumes the highs hurt the ears.

Also I don't know why the DSR1 doesn't keep the db setting for the sub nor the punch eq. Or are those temporary settings? Everytime I turn the truck off, when I turn it back on those two go back to as they were before.

Still have lots to do but the difference is big. The new speakers brought sounds I hadn't heard before in this truck.

There have been firmware updates made. The symptoms you are experiencing regarding "settings reset" sound like you are running old firmware on the dsr1. You must update the rockford side of the hardware using the DSR1 updater first, then you have to go to idatalink's online portal and flash the unit to your truck with their updated firmware. I had the same problem but they fixed it 4 or 5 updates ago.
(Rockford Firmware Update Instructions) http://rftech.custhelp.com/app/answe...-owners-manual
(Idatalink Firmware Update Portal) http://maestro.idatalink.com/weblink/login
You must disconnect the unit from its power supply before you plug it into your computer for update. The usb connection will power the unit for the update.

Why are you running 3-ways in your doors? I have a 6.5" mid in the door and a tweeter in the a-pillar and they sound incredible. You do not need 3-way or even 2-way. A 3-way and 2-way speaker have a tweeter built it. If you mount the tweeter down by your leg, its really not going to sound very good. It also has to do with why the sound is so harsh on your ears. There is a reason why 90% of car audio installs mount the mid range speaker in the door and tweeter in the dash or upper door panel. You want the tweet close to the mid but not on top of it. Makes for a better sound stage and you can aim the tweets directly at the listener. Ideally you would even want to aim the midrange at the listener too but it's not very easy to do in our trucks. Just a simple component set with passive crossovers and tweets in the a-pillar will sound much better. Hate to tell you go return/replace the speakers you have but I think it's in your best interest.

Man, the morel tempos sound so good! That's what I am running and I am continually impressed. For the price range, I don't know if they can be beat.

I will post some pics soon but I just wanted to say publicly that dhmcfadin is the man! Nailed it on every single question I had and my sound system sounds incredible! Highs are fantastic and am really impressed how hard the 10" pioneer sounds in it's small enclosure. Thank you dhmcfadin for the HUGE help!
